The most dependable starting structure is a concentrated kill zone built around the route the orcs actually use: area damage at the front, reliable coverage behind it, and support fire aimed back into the same zone. Confirmed and disputed turret roles

Gunner is the confirmed first turret and has the strongest evidence as an early, general-purpose damage core. Gameplay footage shows early Gunner investment and later penetration upgrades. Flamethrower has a clearer positional job: place it near the front of a choke where a dense stream stays exposed to its burn. Build 2: the choke-point setup

When the route compresses, lead with area damage and keep sustained fire behind it. Flamethrower belongs toward the front of the compressed stream; Gunner can cover enemies leaving the burn zone. Mortar or Cannon support should target the same packed area, with knockback directed back into useful coverage rather than away from it.
